Community-led programs that strengthen inclusion, wellbeing, and youth voice

Our work goes beyond awareness. Each program is designed to create practical access, trusted relationships, and stronger local support systems around children and young people.

Program overview

Four focus areas, one shared commitment

Every initiative is built to reduce exclusion, widen participation, and ensure that community care reaches children and youth in concrete ways.

Mental Health Advocacy

Building brave, stigma-free conversations around emotional wellbeing in rural communities.

Lukhanyo Iwethu creates safe spaces for young people, caregivers, and community leaders to discuss stress, grief, trauma, depression, and hope. Through village dialogues, awareness campaigns, and youth-led storytelling, we challenge harmful myths and encourage support-seeking before crises deepen.

Outcomes and benefits

  • Normalizes open dialogue around mental wellness
  • Equips facilitators and local leaders with referral awareness
  • Strengthens peer support and community care networks

Inclusive Education for Disabled Children

Helping disabled children access learning spaces where they feel seen, supported, and capable.

We address barriers that keep disabled children out of classrooms or limit their participation once they arrive. Our work supports school readiness, accessibility awareness, caregiver confidence, and community understanding so children can learn with belonging rather than exclusion.

Outcomes and benefits

  • Supports school and caregiver awareness on inclusion
  • Encourages adaptive learning and accessible participation
  • Builds confidence, routine, and belonging for children

Community Workshops

Practical, creative workshops that strengthen skills, confidence, and local connection.

Our workshops bring together children, youth, parents, and volunteers around creative arts, STEM exploration, life skills, adaptive physical activity, and rights-based learning. Each session is designed to be welcoming, hands-on, and relevant to village realities.

Outcomes and benefits

  • Creates joyful and accessible learning experiences
  • Builds practical skills and youth confidence
  • Connects families, volunteers, and local partners

Social Media Advocacy

Using storytelling and digital tools to amplify voices from rural communities.

Young people can be powerful advocates when they have the skills to tell their stories ethically and effectively. We guide participants in media literacy, digital storytelling, and advocacy content so they can challenge stigma, celebrate resilience, and mobilize support online.

Outcomes and benefits

  • Builds confidence in storytelling and public advocacy
  • Improves digital literacy and responsible media use
  • Raises visibility for disability inclusion and mental health
